Victorian Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy With Pewter Inlay.
A beautifully shaped victorian tortoiseshell twin lidded tea caddy dating back to c.1840. The Tea Caddy features a pewter inlaid pattern and border and a silver top and key escutcheon with a working lock and tasselled key.It sits on four wooden feet.
Open the caddy to reveal it’s original interior to the back of the inside lid. It has a ivory slip to the inside with twin tortoiseshell lids edged in ivory with bone handles to the centre.
It measures 15 x 9.5 and stands 14cm high.
