Victorian Coromandel Brass Inlaid Writing Slope.
A superb example of a Victorian coromandel brass inlaid writing slope dating back to c.1870 .
The box features brass inlaid borders with a brass top and key escutcheon. Unfortunately the lock no longer works.
The box houses its original writing surface with space to the back of the inside lid for paper work, a pen compartment with a section to the underneath for pens, two sections for inkwells with one cut glass inkwell and a nib slope.
There are secret drawers underneath the writing surface that work by pulling up the nib section divider.
The box measures 36 x 24.3 and stands 14.5cm high.
