Victorian Walnut Writing Slope With Tunbridge ware Inlay.
A superb example of a victorian walnut writing slope dating back to c.1850. The box features beautiful inlaid tunbridge ware borders around the top and front of the box,a mother of pearl top and key escutcheon with Tunbridge ware diamond shaped inlays surrounding the mother of pearl and a working lock and tasselled key.
The box houses a red releathered writing surface, a nib slope, pen slope and a section to store one inkwell, there is a section underneath the writing surface and to the back of the inside lids to store paperwork.
A decorative writing slope in superb condition.
The box measures 35 x 23 and stands 14cm high.
