Victorian Brassbound Walnut Writing Slope.
A classic example of a victorian brassbound and brass inlaid walnut writing slope dating back to c.1870, featuring a brass name plate to the top and brass key escutcheon surrounding a fully working lock and tasselled key.
The box houses a red releathered writing surface, two sections to store inkwells, a pen slope and compartment to the underneath and a nib slope.There is space to the back of the inside lid to store stationary,
underneath the writing surface are two secret drawers to access them you pull the divider by the pen slope.
A wonderful writing slope in superb condition.
It measures 40 x 25 and stands 18 cm high.
