18th Century mahogany Triple section tea caddy.
A superb example of a shaped 18th Century mahogany triple section tea caddy dating back to c.1770. The tea caddy features a kingwood crossbanded inlaid border to the top of the tea caddy, with a brass handle to the centre and a decorative key escutcheon surrounding a working lock and key. It sits on four bracket feet.
Open the box to reveal three lidded sections for tea and larger section to the centre, each lid has a wooden handle, the back of the inside lid and the spoon section has been relined with handcrafted marble paper.
The tea caddy measures 24 x 15 and stands 17cm high.
