Victorian Rosewood & Tunbridge Ware Inkstand By Thomas Barton.
A breathtaking example of a victorian rosewood inkstand dating back to c.1850. The inkstand features mosaic Tunbridge Ware inlaid borders and a tumbling block design with specimen inlay to the lid, underneath lies a pen compartment, the inkstand features two decorative cut glass inkwells in superb condition, with a mosaic lidded compartment for nibs to the centre.
The inkstand has two bone handles to the lids and sits on four wooden feet , featuring a makers label to the underneath “T.Barton Manufacturer”
It measures 29 x 20 and stands 14 cm high.
