Victorian Ebony Writing Slope.
A superb Victorian Ebony wring slope dating back to c.1870 with a brass top and key escutcheon and a fully working lock and tasselled key.
The box houses a red leather writing surface with a nib slope, pen slope and a compartment to store an inkwell. Un clip the back of the inside lid to store paperwork. The box features two secret drawers and more space for paperwork to the underneath of the writing slope. To access the secret drawer you need to push the pressure point on the nib slope.
It measures 31 x 23 and stands 17cm high. A bold and beautiful writing slope in a very neat size.
