A Rare Victorian German Accordion keyboard  Zither In Rosewood and Kingwood.

The  Victorian German Zither dates back to c.1880, it  comes in it’s original 
Black wooden box covered in black linen, with a working lock and key and swing handles to the sides.
it has it’s original red velvet interior, with two lidded compartments, a few tools are missing such as  two pairs of pliers and a rule, but they are not essential.The main thing that is included is the tool that tightens the keys which is  in beautiful cut steel amid ivory. Under one of the compartments is several spare strings.
The Accordion keyboard  Zither is  inlaid with a stunning  cherub band in mother of pearl, abalone  and brass with cherubs playing all sorts of different instruments siting on brass leaves and mother of pearl flowers. 
The Zither has a abalone inlaid dotted patten that runs around the top of the frame and the centre.It is edged in teak  and bone which is a very early form of plastic. There is a guitar keyboard and a silver or silver plated threat board to the end with ivory keys for tightening. It sits on bone feet.
The Zither features a makers label to the  base of a company in Munich Germany.

A super instrument and a real one off in amazing condition.

The case measure 58 x 38 and stands 9 cm high.
The Zither measures 53 x 34 and stands 5 cm high.
