Victorian Brassbound Walnut Writing Slope.
A fine example of a Victorian brassbound walnut writing slope dating back to c.1870 with a brass top escutcheon perfect to make personnel with engraved initials and a brass key escutcheon with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
The box houses a green releathered writing slope, a nib slope, pen slope and pen compartment to the underneath and two original cut glass inkwells. Behind the inside lid there is space to store documents, there are two secret drawers to the underneath of the writing surface with extra space for paperwork.
The writing slope measures 35 x 24 and stands 16cm high.
