Victorian Betjemann’s Patent Alabaster Scent Tantalus.
A spectacular Victorian Betjemann’s patent scent tantalus in alabaster dating back to c.1870 with engraved gilt bronze mounts and gilt bronze clasps at the angles of the base.The tantalus features three cut glass perfume bottles with faceted stoppers in perfect condition housed within. The bronzed security handle to the top has a shaped loop handle, push the Brahma lock down to access the perfume bottles. Unfortunately the key doesn’t work the lock. The tantalus has a makers label to the side “Betjemann’s Patent London no 3680”
It measures 24 x 11 and stands 21 cm high.
