18th Century Mahogany Inlaid Stationary Box.
A fine example of a c.1780 Mahogany Stationary box that would have started life as a knife box.
The box is cross banded In satinwood and kingwood within, it’s edged in boxwood and ebony, featuring a working lock and key, with original silver plated escutcheons to the front.
Ope the box to reveal a Baez lined interior with several stationery slats, the interior would have been changed in the 19th century.
The box is a fabulous colour with it’s lovely early original finish.
it measures 23 x 35 and stands 38 cm high.
