19th Century Decorative French Kingwood Box.
A very elegant French Jewellery box dating back to c.1830 in kingwood and cross banded in harewood,rosewood and tulipwood. The box is edged in brass beading and sits on four wooden feet. The box features a brass cherub to the top and a decorative brass key escutcheon with a working lock and tasselled key.
Open the box to reveal chunky brass hinges to the inside, a mirror to the back of the inside lid and its original velvet interior.
The box measures 20.5 x 14.5 and stands 11.5 cm high.
