18th Century Mahogany casket.
A beautiful Dutch shape fronted mahogany casket which dates back to c.1740.
The casket/jewellery box is walnut with a beautiful marquetry flowered design with two parrots to the top, the box is inlaid with harewood and boxwood. It has its original brass plate lock and handles to the sides. It sits on bun feet to the front and bracket feet to the back.One side has a decorative faux drawer to one side, to the other side a drawer that work of a pin to the inside of the box that runs the length of the box. The body of the box is in oak. The casket has its original finish and it’s in wonderful original condition.
Unfortunately the box hasn’t got a working lock and key.
It measures 35 by 22.5 and stands 22.5 cm high.
