19th Century French tulip wood and Burr cedar tea caddy.
The single tea caddy dates back to c.1850 it’s octagonal in shape. The caddy is brassbound and ebony inlaid and cross banded in angle cut tulip wood, it has burr cedar panels, sides and back.
The back of the inside lid is ebony, with a ebony slip to the inside. Unfortunately the lock and key doesn’t work. It sits on a platform base.
The tea caddy measures 12 by 11 and stands 13 cm high.
