Georgian Ivory ten sided Tea Caddy with Tortoiseshell and silver Inlay.
A Superb example of a ten sided Ivory tea caddy dating back to c.1790.The tea Caddy is a wonderful colour inlaid with Tortoiseshell and silver. It has a inlaid tortoiseshell and silver handle to the top and a tortoiseshell and silver initial plate to the front of the Tea caddy.
The caddy features a working lock and key. It is tortoiseshell edged , the interior has a tortoiseshell slip to the inside with a floating lid inside that was used to compress the tea leaves.
Apart from a few tiny splits the tea caddy is in wonderful condition.
It measures 12 x 7.5 and stands 10 cm high.
