William IV Rosewood Painted Sarcophagus Box.
An outstanding William IV Rosewood box ,dating back to c.1830. The box has been painted in decorative beautiful blue, green and gold colours of decorative bowes, feathers, leaves and a crown. The box has a fully working lock and tasselled key. It sits on four rosewood feet.
The box has been relined with handcrafted marble paper. It would have started life as a tea caddy, a superb box with a lot of character.
The box measures 32 x 17 and stands 16 cm high.
