18th Century Mahogany Box.
A mahogany box dating back to c.1770. It has straight grain mahogany sides and a Cuban mahogany top with a quadrant inlay. The box features it’s original brass handle to the top, a brass key escutcheon and swing hinges to the front which hold the box in place, unfortunately the lock doesn’t work .
The box was probably used to house an instrument.
The interior has been relined with handcrafted marble paper.
The box measures 27 x 24 . 5 and stands 10 cm high.
